November is here, which means some people may be struggling with the winter blues. We wanted to take some time to talk about how to support positive mental health in the winter months. As the weather gets colder, the days get shorter, and the nights seem so long, we want to remind you of some ways to help. Information from New York Stats shares some amazing tips on how to help boost your mental wellness.

We all know as caregivers we have to take care of ourselves on top of the children in our care. There are ways to support your children in teaching self-care as well. If you can, keep a routine as much as possible. Planning activities for the children during the winter is key. Keeping them busy instead of running around the house is so important. If you need any activity ideas, we have a lot we can provide. Incorporating children into physical activity can be so beneficial for you and your child. Go on a family walk together or build a snowman. Being together helps with feelings of isolation and gets everyone moving in the right direction.
We want you all to know that we are here to assist you if you need resources. Another great resource is to call or text 988 if you or someone you know is in a mental health crisis. Together we can get through these winter months.
