Supporting, educating and celebrating caregiving families
Kinship Connections of Wyoming offers a variety of ongoing events and classes aimed at supporting, educating and celebrating kinship families.
Kinship Connections schedules classes and events based on caregiver interests and needs. Topics may include tax preparation, kinship law, foster care, creating a will, parenting, self-care, and more. Classes are facilitated by community experts and/or staff in group settings.
Kinship Connections of Wyoming 1st Annual 5k: Not All Heroes Wear Capes
We are excited to announce that Kinship Connections of
Wyoming is hosting our first annual 5k run/walk and we cordially invite you to
join us! It is our goal to raise awareness about kinship care and the
critical need for caregiver support across the state of Wyoming all while
we celebrate kinship caregivers and their heroic act of caring for children that are
not their own. We encourage you to dress as your favorite
superhero or a hero of your imagination and share your race on our Facebook or Instagram #KinshipWyo5k!
Race Day Details
Date: May 22, 2021
Time: Race starts at 9:00 a.m.
Check in and same day registration
opens at 8:00 a.m.
Location: Lions Park - Carey
Avenue at 8th Avenue, Cheyenne, WY 82001 ( New Picnic Shelter can be seen off of 8th in between ball fields and bathrooms)
Pricing
Children 5 & under are FREE
(they will not receive a shirt, but can win a medal)
$30 for early registration
(anything prior to April 17, 2021)
$35 for registration after April
17, 2021 until day before the race
$40 for day of race
registration
Registration includes a
participant bib, chipped timing, and a custom t-shirt (guaranteed for all
pre-registrants). Medals will be awarded to first, second and third place for
each of the following age groups 10 and under, 11-19, 20 -30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60 and 61 and over.
*********Packet Pick Up Will Be The Day of Race beginning at 8 am ( New picnic shelter that can be seen off of 8th on the south side of Lions Park in between ball fields and bathrooms)*************
